An MOT test is a set of checks to ensure your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. It is a legal requirement that most vehicles aged three years & older pass an MOT test every year to drive on the road. There are different classes of MOT test, depending on the type of vehicle.

P J Hodge & Sons is an authorised MOT test station for the following vehicles:

• Class 1 – Motorcycles up to 200cc
• Class 2 – Motorcycles above 200cc
• Class 4 – Cars, short vans, dual purpose vehicles, ambulances, taxis & private hire vehicles

At P J Hodge & Sons, an MOT test usually takes around an hour to complete. You are welcome to stay & watch from our viewing area, have a coffee in our waiting area or leave the vehicle with us for the day whilst we complete your MOT test. If you prefer, we’ll combine your MOT test with other reasons for your visit, such as your vehicle service.
